STAMFORD, Conn. -- Heather Cox will be the sideline reporter on NBCs new Thursday Night Football package.Cox is joining NBC Sports Group after 22 years at ESPN, where she was the sideline reporter for ABCs Saturday Night Football and the college football title games.Cox has worked with NBC before at the last three Summer Olympics, where she was the reporter for beach volleyball. She will be the reporter for indoor volleyball at next months Rio Games, covering the sport she played in college and professionally.NBC said Wednesday that Cox will also report on some events for Golf Channel in the new position, among other assignments.NBC and CBS are each broadcasting five games this fall under the NFLs new Thursday night contracts.
