SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Chargers have lost cornerback Jason Verrett to a season-ending knee injury even as it appears that rookie defensive end Joey Bosa is finally ready to make his NFL debut.Verrett confirmed Wednesday that he has a torn ACL in his left knee that will require surgery. My season is done with, he said.Verrett, who was a Pro Bowler last year in his second NFL season, said he felt pain the past three games and had an MRI on Monday that revealed the injury.I was shocked with the news and now Ive just got to move forward with it, he said. Its the latest big injury for the Chargers (1 -3), who have blown late leads in their three losses. Theyve already lost wide receiver Keenan Allen and running back Danny Woodhead to torn ACLs, and inside linebacker Manti Teo to an Achilles injury. Its devastating to have to go through that but man, its still early in the year, Verrett said. Weve still got a lot of good guys that will be on the field. Shoot, Im rooting for them.Bosa, meanwhile, was a full participant at practice for the first time and said he hopes to make his NFL debut Sunday at Oakland.Bosa, the No. 3 pick overall in this years draft, missed all of training camp during a nasty holdout and then hurt a hamstring.I kind of came back on an easy day, no pads, but feeling great and ready to go this week, Bosa said. Its the coachs decision. Im hopeful, obviously. I want to get out there. I want to play. Its still kind of one day at a time, but I feel great and ready to go.The former Ohio State star hasnt played since the Fiesta Bowl, when he was ejected in the first quarter for targeting after leading with his helmet on a hit to Notre Dame quarterback DeShone Kizer.I definitely feel ready, he said. Ive been busting my butt the last two weeks, or more, once I really got able to start working and running to really get in shape and get out there and play. Its been a long process. Its been tough, but Im just excited to finally be out there.Bosa said it didnt matter who the opponent is for his debut.I havent taken one snap in the NFL so Im just looking to get one and then keep going with that, he said. Of course its a huge game, division rivals. Theyre playing really well right now. Ive been looking forward to this for a long time.Bosa said this is the first time hes missed games because of injury since youth football in Florida. Its been a new experience for me, standing on the sideline watching my team play. Its been tough, but Im just ready to get going.---Follow Bernie Wilson on Twitter at http://twitter.com/berniewilson---Online: http://pro32.ap.org/poll and http://twitter.com/AP-NFLBernie Kosar Browns Jersey . LOUIS -- St. Sheldrick Redwine Womens Jersey .J. -- Seven games into a disappointing season, New York Giants defensive catalyst Jason Pierre-Paul is getting the feeling hes back. Eoin Morgan, the captain of Englands limited-overs sides, has indicated that individual players will be given the choice of whether they want to be included for the tour of Bangladesh that is scheduled for October. The England one-day squad are due to be given a security briefing on Thursday by the three-member delegation that recently returned from the subcontinent.Reg Dickason, the ECBs security advisor, David Leatherdale, the chief executive of the Professional Cricketers Association, and John Carr, ECB director of cricket operations, will present their findings after completing venue inspections in Bangladesh and India last week. The BCB described their visit as a positive one and said there was no immediate timeframe in which England were expected to make a decision.Morgan has previously expressed his concerns about going to Bangladesh, in the wake of a terrorist attack in Dhaka in July. He said he expected the players to play a full part in the discussions and that there would be room for a personal decision if individuals were reluctant to travel.Alastair Cook, the Test captain, will attend the meeting in London, travelling down from Leicester where he is involved in a county match for Essex. The one-day squad would depart for Bangladesh first, leaving on September 30, with three ODIs scheduled ahead of a two-Test series later in October. The briefing will be Thursday evening, with head of security Reg Dickason, a rep from the PCA and John Carr from the ECB, Morgan said. Theyve been doing the reccy and well be debriefed by them.ddddddddddddAlastair will be there and other guys who are available will come.Theyll debrief us on the findings on both tours and well chat about it, it has to be quite open. People have missed tours in the past so you have to make guys feel safe to go. Its a decision youd rather get out of the way sooner rather than later. Theres always room for a personal decision, you also have to understand guys might have different priorities. In 2001, Robert Croft and Andrew Caddick opted out of the tour to India following the 9/11 terrorist attacks in America.Current government advice from the Foreign Office currently states that there is a heightened threat of further terrorist attacks in Bangladesh and warns those travelling to minimise their exposure to crowded areas and places where westerners are known to gather.Australia pulled out of their tour to Bangladesh last year due to security fears and also did not send a team to the Under-19 World Cup held in the country in January and February. When asked earlier in the month, Englands assistant coach, Paul Farbrace, said there had been no discussions about giving players the chance to opt out and that it would be a huge call to pull out of the tour. Player and staff safety is paramount but its a huge decision for a country to decide not to go, he said. Bangladesh are looking forward to us going.
