I found Archeology boring and slow. The lore is trendy but that is kinda it. Having played RS3 a decent piece the past couple months, what I need in OSRS is more quests. RS3 is worth playing with the quests independently. I really don't recall the xp speeds. I have not gone back and did it. I do remember you get hardly any xp until you can repair an item it gives a boost. Finding that merchandise is pretty slow. I found a complete slog and it unbelievably slow. I can not think of a worse skill to train.
I certainly think osrs needs a skill that's consistent with the current speed/pace of gaming. It would be wonderful to have a skill that isn't such a grind. A lot people are comfortable and embrace the grind because it's all we know. Like lots of new players are put off by it, I feel. Could be great for new players if there was a more interactive skill that didn't feel like such a tireless slog and really rewarding in brief bursts. Osrs has done very well with in this respect to PVM using the new mechanics for supervisors. Things like zalcono gauntlet and the agility that is newest are all great steps in the ideal direction. It's been refreshing to find a new way to train skills.
I think it would be very well done and received by the community if jagex implemented this all into a brand new ability. I believe sepulchre is a model of how they ought to design content that is skilling. The XP rates must be equivalent or reduced to meta training, but make it really engaging and enjoyable to perform. Since I can enjoy the sepulchre for an hour, I would much rather do runs at xp an hour than seers at 50k. People so often get mad at eliminating"the mill", but it's still gonna taken dozens of hours to max a skill with engaging content if you make the xp rates the same as current training methods. The grind will just be a match instead of spam clicking.
Imo you've got it backward. Meta due to clicks and attention ought to not be at higher xp or xp than Sepulchre. Enjoyment shouldn't be a variable. End game supervisors need large focus for reward. Sepulchre requires the exact same to get a lesser reward than the afk path. Agree with the philosophy, though I think sweaty people whine when new coaching methods come out that are meta xp prices, so it is probably difficult to pass fluctuations that transcend current training methods. Plus there's a gp element we're currently ignoring in this. Sepulchre makes more money so that ought to be accounted for in xp prices.
I made an account about a month ago; I've definitely played in the past but never got too deep in to it. Since I began, I've been after this quest guide. I am up to Elemental Workshop II, save for 1-2 quests earlier from the record I didn't feel like doing atm. So basically, I may use the soul trees, gnome glider, and between people and my Varrock tele, house tele, and ring of arriving, I have managed to maneuver around the map fairly comfortably. However, I'm kind of bored with just running quests and wish to try something different for a small change of pace. What do you guys recommend? These are my stats, and I knocked out Varrock easy diaries and the Falador. Given my present skill levels, what could you guys recommend? Also, any tips on making gold will be nice. I've just been turning flax in to bow series but I feel like I might be making more doing something else.
