NEW ORLEANS -- Perhaps New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton hasnt moved on, judging by his raised arms, vigorous fist-pumps, emphatic high-fives and searing glares across the field.Perhaps he was just being diplomatic this past week, when he called Rams defensive coordinator Gregg Williams a good coach and downplayed the significance of their first game against one another since Payton fired Williams after the 2011 season -- months before they both wound up suspended in the NFLs probe of a cash-for-hits bounty program that Williams told league investigators hed encouraged. How else to explain why Payton looked more animated than any fan in the Superdome while the offense he designed unleashed a relentless onslaught -- trick plays and all -- on Williams defense in New Orleans 49-21 rout of the Rams on Sunday? He was fired up, Saints safety Kenny Vaccaro said. We all know why.Drew Brees passed for 310 yards and four touchdowns . Mark Ingram gashed the Rams for 146 yards on just 14 carries as the Saints (5-6) ended a two-game skid and maintained hope of a late playoff push. Some razzle-dazzle produced a 50-yard touchdown pass from receiver Willie Snead to running back Tim Hightower. That play came with New Orleans already leading 42-21 with about 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter.Payton said the Saints ran the trick play because we got the right look.In a largely subdued postgame media conference, Payton deflected credit to his players for piling up 555 yards and a season-high in points.Yet several Saints didnt hesitate to speak for their coach as it pertained to Williams presence on the opposing sideline. At no point in this week did their relationship or the history thats here come up, Saints right tackle Zach Strief asserted, but added, plenty of us understand and know the situation. Its human nature. First and foremost, we wanted to win. But lets not lie to ourselves. There was more to it -- and good for coach. Two of Brees scoring strikes went to rookie Michael Thomas, whose touchdowns of 6 and 21 yards were part of a nine-catch, 108-yard performance. Brees other touchdowns went to Ingram and Brandon Coleman. This one came down to our lack of ability on defense to get the ball back and stop them, said Los Angeles coach Jeff Fisher, whose Rams (4-7) have lost six of seven. You talk about 550 yards of total offense -- thats difficult to overcome. While there werent many highlights for Williams unit, it made a big play early on tackle Aaron Donalds sack and strip of Brees that set up the Rams second TD on Jared Goffs 6-yard pass to Kenny Britt.Williams coached the way he normally coaches on the field and in the meeting rooms, Fisher said. He motivated the guys and we just had a bad day.ROAD DEBUTGoff, the NFLs top overall draft pick last spring, completed 20 of 32 passes for 214 yards and three touchdowns. He had his share of brilliant throws in his first road start, including a pin-point 24-yard scoring pass to Tavon Austin. But he also was intercepted by Vaccaro and lost a fumble on a sack by rookie defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins.BOUNCING BACKOne of Ingrams most productive games came just 10 days after he was knocked unconscious at Carolina. His highlights included a 61-yard scamper, a 10-yard touchdown run on a fourth-and-1 play and a 21-yard score on a screen to the right side of the field, which was wide open as the Rams tried to pressure Brees. The screen was just a great coaching call on third-and-11, Ingram said. I get out there and theres four black jerseys and one white jersey, so that makes it easy. I feel like any of you guys could have scored.GOING FOR ITAfter falling behind 14-7, the Saints surged in front on consecutive fourth-down touchdowns less than two minutes apart. In both situations, the Saints were stuffed on third-and-1.Ingram scored the first of those touchdowns when he took a pitch to the left side and then wrong-footed pursuers with a sharp cut back toward the middle.New Orleans quickly got the ball back when end Paul Kruger recovered Goffs fumble on the L.A. 10. Four plays later, Brees dove over his linemen to make it 21-14. It also marked the first time this season any NFL team scored two fourth-down TDs in the same game.PASSING MILESTONEBrees became one of three players with 30 touchdowns in nine different seasons, joining Brett Favre and Peyton Manning. Brees has done it nine seasons in a row. He is also the second quarterback in NFL history to reach 30 career games with at least four touchdown passes (Peyton Manning, 35).INJURIESDuring the second quarter, the Rams announced that offensive guard Rodger Saffold had a hand injury. In the second half, the Rams announced cornerback E.J. Gaines had a chest injury. In the third quarter, Saints left tackle Terron Armstead briefly required attention by trainers before walking to the sideline. He did not return.UP NEXTIt doesnt get easier for the Rams, who visit New England next Sunday. The Saints are back in the Superdome on Sunday against Detroit.---For more NFL coverage: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP-NFLCalgary Flames Gear . -- About a third of the way through the regular season, the Washington Wizards are at . Todays contributors are ESPN Fantasys Kyle Soppe and Joe Kaiser, and DFS expert Renee Miller.Jrue Holiday is set to make his season debut Friday. His overall fantasy game is comparable to what weve seen from Jeff Teague and Dennis Schroder this season, including the fact that all three come with significant question marks. Rank these three for the remainder of the season, factoring in games played, and explain your reasoning.Kyle Soppe: Despite all three of these point guards being very capable of producing strong fantasy numbers, I feel reasonably good about Schroder leading this trio. He was my highest-ranked of these three coming into the season based on my thoughts that he would thrive with a significant minutes uptick. And with more than 16 points and 6 assists a night, he has done nothing to be knocked off the top spot. Give me Teague over Holiday for the rest of the season, but not because hes the more talented player -- I dont think he is -- but rather for his raised floor. You know exactly what youre going to get from Teague, and you can feel good about getting that production for the entirety of the season (he has played in 95.8 percent of games since the beginning of the 2011-12 season). Holiday is capable of stuffing the stat sheet as well, but considering that he has missed 118 games over the last three-plus seasons and has serious family concerns, there is no reason to roll the dice for a marginal statistical bump at best. So its Schroder, Teague, Holiday for me the rest of the way.Joe Kaiser: Youre right, these three point guards are very comparable, but if I had to rank them 1-3, my order would be Holiday, Teague, then Schroder. The reasoning here isnt very complicated: While all three average right around 14-16 points, 2-3 rebounds and 6 assists per game, Holiday has a slight advantage over the others from 3-point range, and his career mark of 1.4 steals per game is narrowly ahead off Teague (1.dddddddddddd2) and well ahead of Schroder, who surprisingly has never averaged more than 0.9 SPG in a season and is at 0.5 SPG as a starter this season. While Teague comes close to Holiday, what concerns me is his cold shooting on his new team in Indiana. A career 44.6-percent shooter, the 28-year-old is at 39.3 percent in his first 12 games as a Pacer, and the further we get into the season, the more that may be a lasting issue. One other factor to consider in all this is health, and thats where Teague and Schroder do have an advantage over the injury-prone Holiday, who has played in more than 65 games just once in the last five seasons. If that scares you away from the Pelicans point guard, Teague and Schroder might be better options to turn to since theyre safer bets to last the whole season.Renee Miller: Im not a person who likes to predict the distant future. Instead, I use the best information currently available to make good decisions in fantasy sports for today. If that decision involves picking up Holiday in a season-long league, Id make sure there are no significant costs associated with it. Ive always liked Holiday as a player, but he has a hard time staying healthy, missing around half the season in 2013-14 and 2014-15, and starting just 23 games last year.Given that, and the fact that when they do play, these three point guards put up similar numbers (16 points, 3 boards, 6 dimes, 1.5 swipes), Im making my decision between Schroder and the guy he used to back up in Atlanta, Teague, based on team factors. Atlanta plays at the fastest pace (fifth in the league), has the best effective field goal percentage (third in the league, important for assists) and is the best team of the three in terms of offensive and defensive efficiency. Together, those factors put Schroder in the best position to succeed long-term, but in DFS, I very much consider all three guards to be price- and matchup-dependent plays. ' ' '
